The Swarthmore Horticultural Society will be distributing sunflower seedlings and have seed packet give-aways, as well as educating all about the importance of planting these beautiful pollinator habitats to help nourish our bees. April Showers Bring May Flowers! Floral designer Liz Orye of Bough + Blossom is back at H.O.M. to share her talents. No need to wait until Mother’s Day to receive flowers! Grab a friend, your favorite vase, and treat yourself to a beautiful bouquet. Please come get some free rose milkweed seedlings courtesy of the Swarthmore Monarch Boosters. There will be enough seedlings of these pretty pink flower and sweet vanilla smelling plants for the first 100 people to pop by. Plenty to go around and to help bring the monarchs to Swarthmore.

April is birthday month at H.O.M. Our unique shop first opened in April 2014 and what better way to mark our 5th birthday than with a party!
Join us for a special pop up shop with Swarthmore College senior and on-campus baker, Therese Ton of Toscah Bakery. Therese will be on site selling slices of her delectable cakes including Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Cake, London Fog Cake, and individual Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Molten Lava Cakes (yum!) for $5 each.
Entertainment will be courtesy of Joe Breslin who will be singing an acoustic set of songs that we all love to sing along to.
Plus, Jean Breslin of Stacey’s Face Painting will be here to transform the kiddos into superheroes, fairies and more!
H.O.M. and Gallery on Park will be collecting men’s and women’s clothes in good condition for all seasons for Career Wardrobe. Career Wardrobe is one of the nation’s largest independent organizations that empowers individuals in their transition to work with professional clothing, job search support, and professional development Please bring items in shopping bags, paper bags, reusable tote bags, or boxes. Zoet Bathlatier is an artisan candle and apothecary line created by Ilka Evans with inspiration rooted in nature and culture. Ilka’s vegetable wax candles are cult favorites here at H.O.M and we are bringing back her apothecary line as well.
Ilka will join us for a special afternoon pop up shop and have on hand all of your Zoet Bathlatier favorites and new products too!
Join H.O.M as we celebrate National Craft Month,. Free creative crafts for all ages. Our focus will be on repurposing newspaper to create new decorative and useful items. Complimentary drinks and snacks too!

Established in 1994, Crescent Moon Clothing has grown from a hand-painted t-shirt line to a full line of ready to wear women’s clothing. It wasn’t until she was introduced to the art of batik that Gretchen found a passion for textiles, garment dyeing, and design.
